This is pretty brilliant speed pop/punk from Finland in the mode of bands like The Parasites (except maybe faster) or maybe a sloppier, less produced Goo Goo Dolls. It´s your basic three chord 150 mph thrash stuff except the chord changes are bright and snappy and the vocals are that kind of rough emotional stuff in the vein of someone like Samiam. “Favourite Kid” is my fave...a really humorous song about some guy who´s a teen idol. It races along until the bridge where it slows down for a second for a quick little my-balls-are-in-a-vice-and-you´re-turning-the-handle-the-wrong-way heavy metal scream before it rips out once again. Good songs with potential to be better once they get tighter.
Noise For Heroes #22

Fairly well-played (especially the fast-paced drums) and good, not crytal clear, but good production, remarkable colour cover (seldom seen on self-financed affairs!) and so on... The music is just above my comprehension, the songs are so tight, well-structured and so damn catchy, they truely give you those shivers that make you turn the 7-incher round & round on your turntable! The EP includes four tracks, all in hypercool vein of Bad Religion,All/Descendents, NOFX, Snuff and likes. And they are not even trying to cover up their influences, they do their thing the good old way, `coz it has been noticed to be good, and they do their thing well, and THAT`S what make them so attractive. So get yourself a copy of it, steal, buy, trade, whatever, it´s worth it, if you like melodic and vocal orientated U.S. punk, I guarantee!

Jaaha, sukulaisia töissä painotalossa - vai millä selitätte komeat värikannet, kiiltävälle paperille painetut sisäliitteet ja silti normaalin myyntihinnan? Vinyyliltä löytyy puolestaan vauhdikasta, suorastaan pikanopeaa punkpoppia tyyliin Snuff et Bad Religion. Hillitöntä tempoa, melodianpoikasta, oikeaa meininkiä ja vähän hutiloivaa toteutusta. Ehdottomasti tulevaisuuden lupauksia, kun vielä malttaisivat korjata nopeuden ja melodian suhdetta. ***

Vitun hyvä! Back To Normal on räkäinen, melodinen, nopea ja vaarallisen tarttuva. Don´t Wanna Be on helevetin hyvä ralli, se kitaraintro on loistava. Kertosäkeen lällätys jää laakista päähän, mutta on vähän sellanen tunne, että on kuullut sen aikaisemminkin... Have a Nice Day on mukava powerpoppunkpala (!) kaikille loosereille: “Steal some gasoline / Set yourself on fire / No use to pray / Have a nice day!” Favourite Kid kertoo tästä vimmatusta NKOTB-huumasta, eikä taatusti kovinkaan puolustavasta näkökulmasta. Piisin hidas väliosa on aika hyvä, ja alkuriffikin ihan kelpo. Mutta viimeisenä räjähtävä Wish She Were Mine on meitsin suosikki: todellinen laakista päähän-kesäpoppishitti! Piiseissä kaikki taustavokaaleja myöten hoituu mallikkaasti ja tyylillä, mutta toki tätä olisi kauemminkin jaksanut kuunnella. Nyt pituus jää vaatimattomaksi, vain 1´20. Äänitys on hyvänlainen, mutta laulu olisi tietty voinut olla enemmänkin pinnassa. Hyvä näinkin. Jätkät soittaa varsin tiukasti yhteen, olematta silti mitään ammattilaisia. Sanat on hyviä, hauskojakin välillä. Meististä ainakin tuli fani, joten nyt vaan innolla seuraavaa vinyyliä odottamaan.
